The Steps to Recovery Group meets at 65 Bowden Rd in Cedar Grove NJ. Our format is a Step Speaker Discussion meeting. Which means that, every Tuesday, a speaker shares their experience, strength, and hope on the step of the week.
Our group features a robust and diverse group of home group members, experienced addicts, and newcomers. Treatment centers regularly attend our meetings, and we graciously support them with literature – our group policy is to give a basic text to any newcomer who can’t afford one and are in need of.
We recently celebrated our group anniversary on the last Tuesday in May. It was a success, and we were grateful as a group for the overwhelming support.
On days where the Weather is nice during the Summer we meet outdoors, and our location boasts a lush landscape, deer that frequent the area, and nature that makes the experience pleasant and serene.
Our home-group members are devoted to the group and carrying the message to both newcomers and struggling addicts – many of whom have been involved with the group for longer than addicts such as I have been coming around.
There are always new and exciting speakers, passion for recovery, and an enthusiasm for learning a new way of life. Personally, I’ve never been a member of a home group with the kindness and compassion I’ve experienced.
